What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority for faith and life. God is its author, salvation is its purpose, and truth, without any mixture of error, is its content. Scripture reveals Christ and provides the trustworthy standard by which we understand what we believe and how we are to live.
Salvation by Grace
We believe salvation is the gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Christ died for our sins and rose again, and all who trust in Him are forgiven, made new, and reconciled to God. Salvation is wholly the work of God and not something we can earn through our own goodness or works.
Our Shared Affirmation
First Baptist Church of Valentine affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a faithful summary of our biblical convictions. Scripture alone is our final authority for faith and practice. We voluntarily cooperate with other Southern Baptist churches in the work of missions, ministry, and advancing the gospel.

Meet Pastor Tim
Pastor Tim Wilkinson has served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Valentine since 2022. His desire is to faithfully shepherd God's people through the teaching of His Word and to help believers grow toward spiritual maturity in Christ.
He believes the church belongs to Christ and that the pastor's calling is not to build his own ministry, but to faithfully care for the people Christ has entrusted to him. His preaching is centered on Scripture, with an emphasis on understanding God's Word and applying it faithfully to everyday life.
Pastor Tim and his wife are grateful to call Valentine home and to serve alongside the First Baptist family.
